The GT1 made an appearance at the American Speed Festival at M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan. The 2022 American Speed Festival celebrated the 60th anniversary of Shelby American. The GT1 ran in timed sessions on the 1.5 mile course, detuned to a moderate 4 pounds of boost.
The GT1 was awarded the best Supercar at the American Speed Festival, beating out a number of entries from Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche. The full carbon exterior had crowds electrified. Throughout its on-track sessions, the GT1 received numerous kudos by the broadcasters and journalists on hand for the event. The epic sound of the RY45TT had crowds on their feet.
A highlight of the experience was Pete Brock, designer of the Shelby Daytona Coupe, looking over the GT1. The GT1 team enjoyed the conversation about design, engineering and motorsports with Pete.
